the process
At DERECHITO TEQUILA, we believe that crafting premium tequila is a harmonious blend of tradition, innovation, and passion. Every step of our process is meticulously designed to capture the true essence of agave and deliver an unparalleled tasting experience.
STEP 1 : AGAVE SELECTION
Each agave plant is chosen with utmost care, nurtured in the embrace of the sun-drenched fields of the Lowlands of Jalisco. Our expert harvesters handpick only the finest piñas, 100% Blue Weber Agave, ensuring that the essence of the land is captured in every sip.
STEP 2: AGAVE BAKING
The journey continues with a meticulous roasting process in the ovens, where the agave hearts reveal their sweet, complex character.
STEP 2: MILLING & NATURAL OPEN FERMENTATION
With a natural yeast in property, the fermentation process takes from 4 to 7 days, depending on temperature and seasons of the Valley as our fermentation is a natural open-air process.
STEP 4: MASTERFUL DISTILLATION
Our skilled artisans employ traditional copper stills to distill the agave's essence, refining its flavors obtaining the true aromas of the Blue Weber hearts at 55% Alc.Vol.
STEP 5: AGE WITH GRACE
For our reposado, añejo and extra añejo expressions, time becomes an essential partner. Resting patiently in fine oak barrels from France and the United States, the tequila matures into a symphony of notes, marrying the warmth of wood with the vibrancy of agave.
STEP 6: PROUDLY LOCAL BOTTLE
From the agave to the bottle, we ensure Mexican craftsmanship to keep a local production. As you hold our premium tequila, you hold a piece of our heritage and passion, 100% of the bottle is a product of Mexican artisans.
Salud!
